Sefkhet was dragged into the world on a cold morning in April, had a good look around, and immediately started arguing with it.
It has been 24 years and she has still not stopped.
She is a third year medical student, which means that her job is to keep out of the way, not break anything, and try to absorb knowledge by osmosis. She came to medical school via the scenic route -- ex-biomedical scientist (who still knows how to use spectrophotometer properly) and ex-public transport information giving monkey (who still has a quite frankly ridiculous amount of information stored in her head about the bus services in a city in which she no longer lives). She wouldn't change any of it for the world. 99% of the time, she is quite dorkily enthusiastic about what she does, and she makes no apologies for this. She does apologise in advance for those times surrounding Exams and Deadlines, when her journal does tend to devolve into incoherent panicky flailing.
She originally hails from Tyneside (and sometimes bursts into spontaneous renditions of Big River, just to prove it) but has transplanted herself to nairth o'th' bairder, where she lives happily on the banks of the Clyde, right among the smog and the shipyards and a really big motorway.
She is a liberal Anglican and a member of the Scottish Episcopal Church. She writes about faith, about God, about her church, about LGBT issues in Christianity, and about why The Vicar of Dibley might as well have been a documentary.
She is a member of the City of Glasgow Chorus.
She has a tendency to shout about various political issues, should she think they need shouting about. She is a particular fan of getting into fights with the right-wing tabloid press.
She reads fiction and history and newspapers and the back of cereal boxes if nothing else should happen to be available.
She mostly lurks around the edges of fandom, but is known for meta-ing with unholy squee and noisy headdesking. She came to fandom by way of The West Wing and is an unabashed Sorkinite. Her principal fandoms these days are Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Top Gear, together with a sideline in lovingly taking the piss out of whichever unlikely crime-fighting duo happens to be gracing the BBC (or occasionally ITV) this week.
She is dangerous when encountered in the mornings pre-caffeine, when she most closely resembles a small and unkempt troll who has not yet mastered the use of its higher brain function.
She maintains a public medical blog at Defying Gravity.
